The Passle Rainmaker User Group has brought together people from marketing and communications backgrounds to share insights and ideas. First up Dan Connors. It started strong and got stronger. Dan introduced himself as ex-military and straight away he had my attention. Why? I wondered if certain roles and backgrounds made it easier to get attention. I sat up straight and I wasn’t the only one!
Dan kept our attention as he went on to discuss the DNA of Influence. With some effort we can all become influential. We can learn about our targets and audiences and influence them.
I was with another military person this weekend. He told me that communications were done to a method called ABC. Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity. Now in business we don’t have the influential advantage of giving orders nor often a life or death responsibility. However, if we acquire influence and then apply ABC we might just get results.
