It's wonderful news that Rotary Great Britain and Ireland has chosen the NEC in Birmingham to host its Volunteer Expo next May.
There are many things individuals can do to get involved but businesses can also volunteer too. It may be that you have a charity which you support already and could offer a day a year, a quarter or a month to. Sending a team of employees to complete a project can help a charity, be a great thing for employees to get involved with and add to your qdos as an employer.
You may also have employees who become Trustees for a charity and you could support them by being flexible with working time. Perhaps you could support a charity by providing training to its volunteers or staff?
The possibilities are a lot wider than you probably think. As a Trustee I know the value of having good volunteers and support from our charity partners who we would not be able to function without. Giving back feels good and so take this week to think about how you may be able to give a little back.
Volunteer Expo 1-3 May 2020 will be designed to connect new and existing volunteers with charities and community-interest organisations to encourage greater involvement with volunteering and social action projects.
